This proposal hits farmers who are already dealing with rising costs, labor shortages, and challenging markets. This increase from the Governor’s office makes Wisconsin uncompetitive and sends a strong signal to the industry that they’re better off elsewhere.

Our fees already exceed our neighbors in Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois. Raising fees 250% to 1,700% places incredible strain on our great Wisconsin farmers and tells any prospective farmers or ranchers to look anywhere but here.

Our farmers have shared significant concerns regarding the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) ATCP 10 and ATCP 12 proposals that would raise the costs for certifying vet inspections, farm registrations, dealer fees, and animal trucking.
